Thanks for posting this website on Facebook. You make some beautiful music, and Ray's writings were fun to read. Yes, I said "fun." I'm sure he was looking for inspiring or thought-provoking. Sorry. I went to school with Ray in Muskegon. He was always so entertaining there and all around nice guy. It's great to know he's doing what he enjoys and has such a talented and supportive wife to share life with. Best of everything to you both! Danielle (MacLaren) Bucy

OMG please don't change! Did you write lyrics and music for the soundtrack? I've never been so taken by music in my life. The actors added to the experience, as well; incredible high tenors that sounded like angels.
I would love to know how you got involved in such a cool movie.
Peace,
Sam Wilkinson

WOW! So great! It seems as if everyone who watches "Were the World Mine" agrees that the music is absolutely beautiful! I am not an exception from this! I think I have played the soundtrack more than 100 times in the last few days. Thank you for your amazing music.

I just saw "Were The World Mine" last night, and I must say I was happily surprised at how good the music was! I very much enjoyed the swooping melodies and fresh harmonic movement. And I really, really loved how you used the Shakespeare text in such a modern and accessible way. I love that kind of fusion. I composed some works where I set some Biblical texts to music, but your work has inspired me to do more! Thank you so much for your art and spirit!

Jessica,
I don't typically search out songwriters after watching a movie, but have to say that I just saw 'Were the World Mine'. OMFG!!! I loved it. In tears of beauty and joy at what a wonderful story...and fabulous score.
I am a member of the San Francisco Gay Mens Chorus and part of one of the small ensembles of the chorus, Vocal Minority, a close vocal harmony and show choir ensemble.
Through this wonderfully score beautiful story, all I could think about was how cool it would be to adapt your score into a small ensemble concert version of your music from the film....bit of character acting and movement.
Have you ever had interest in letting a small ensemble do an arrangement of your work. Just curious.
Thanks for the inspiration through this music.

I liked you after the soundtrack to Were The World Mine. I adored you after your bio! Honesty and talent, with a twist of lime. Well done. I don't suppose you'll be touring Oregon anytime soon, eh?

That description of your music on your home page sounds a lot like my favorite artist, Rufus Wainwright. I'm sure you know his stuff. Anyway, tonight we saw "Were the World Mine" and I was briefly reminded of Rufus, but your songs have a beauty all their own. I was thinking to myself, what big artist did this little movie round up for the music? Just luscious. I hope there's a soundtrack album.

RE your childhood song "A Nickel and a Shank" - in prison slang, a "Shank" is a homemade knife (or alternately, I suspect, an analogous anatomical feature (not the leg), considered distastefully) - and I understand a "Nickel" is short for a "Nickel Bag." VERRRY nice, Jessica, and you were what, nine? I guess that explains everything, doesn't it?
Love the new songs you have up, as expected.
